ABB RLM01 (Part No. 3BDZ000398R1) is a PROFIBUS Redundancy Link Module designed to enhance the reliability of PROFIBUS DP/FMS networks by providing line redundancy. It achieves this by converting a non-redundant PROFIBUS line into two redundant RS485 lines or vice versa.
Redundancy Functionality: Converts a single PROFIBUS DP/FMS line into two redundant lines, ensuring continuous communication even if one line fails.
Signal Amplification: Regenerates signal form and amplitude, acting as a repeater to maintain signal integrity over extended distances.
Monitoring Capabilities: Continuously monitors all three lines (A, B, and M) for activity and error statuses, providing diagnostic information via LEDs and signaling contacts.
